MOC Collegiate FFA Participate in Sampson County’s Agriculture Day
On Saturday, April 2nd, 2011 Sampson County Cooperative Extension Service hosted The Sampson County Community Agriculture Day! The goal of the event, sponsored by various farms, vendors, and organizations, was to bring awareness of the county’s agricultural importance to all who attended. Ag Day, which began at 10:00am and ended at 2:00pm, provided a variety of outdoor activities for both young and old; including a mock livestock show, a ‘how to’ grow a garden-from soil prep to harvest, cooking demonstration classes, ‘Gotta Be NC’ motorized shopping cart display, petting zoo, mini horse wagon drive, Ag Olympics, farm equipment, live entertainment, and local farm produce & products for sale. It also included Cow Chip Bingo, barrel train rides, hay bale roll, wheel barrow, and filling water bucket races.
